Wolfspeed, a Cree Company, has expanded its C4D family of 1200V SiC Schottky diodes to introduce three new products in a TO-247-2 type package. The increased spacing between the two leads provides more than twice the creepage and clearance distance compared to standard TO-247-3 and TO-220-2 packages.
“Improved creepage distance makes the C4D family expansion ideal for high-voltage applications in environments with heightened levels of pollution, such as off-board battery chargers and solar inverters in urban settings,” said Tom Barbieri, Wolfspeed’s Marketing Engineer, SiC Schottky Diodes.
“This portfolio expansion offers significant advantage for our energy and transportation customers who require increased reliability and performance in challenging outdoor settings,” Barbieri concluded.
Wolfspeed’s C4D Schottky diodes combine essentially no switching losses with best-in-class low forward voltage drop, delivering high efficiency during power conversion. These diodes enable systems that are smaller, cooler and faster at equivalent or even lower system cost than possible with comparable silicon bipolar devices.
This C4D family expansion combines these features with a new 2-lead TO-247 package option. The C4D10120H, C4D15120H and C4D20120H products are rated for 10A, 15A and 20A, respectively, and offer 1200V blocking capability.
